IGN Fan Fest: Fall Edition 2026 has wrapped up, bringing a whole bunch of announcements, reveals, and trailers from across the entertainment industry. We're talking films and TV, but most importantly, games!

Presenting your latest batch of weekend freebies!

Thursday is back again, and so it's time for a new batch of Xbox Free Play Days titles!

There's six games in total, with NBA 2K27 leading the charge this week. The timing is great too, as the basketball simulation series is supporting Xbox Play Anywhere for the first time in its history, allowing players to take to the court on Xbox for PC and handheld devices.

A witcher must keep their eyesight sharp, lest they need a prescription from Specsavers.

CD Projekt Red has whipped up and released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 Remastered, specifically addressing issues with the Xbox Series S version.

The Xbox Series S specific patch is intended to improve issues with overall image clarity. According to a few Redditors, Geralt's remastered escapades were running at around ~500p in performance mode. In short, the game looked like blurry cr*p on XSS.

Rockstar Games has officially unveiled the GTA 6 launch trailer today, giving us just another small glimpse at what to expect from the biggest release of the Xbox Series X|S era (and quite possibly in gaming history!).

You can watch the full thing above, which doesn't really go into much story detail, but nevertheless shows off a beautiful-looking world that we already saw quite extensively as part of the GTA 6 Extended Preview last month.

As part of new "Xbox Research" surveys being sent to Insiders.

Last night, the folks at Windows Central broke some news when they shared a survey that is apparently being sent out to Xbox Insiders, questioning how fans would feel in terms of various exclusivity scenarios.

For example, the most bold question asks the reader to imagine that "all future title releases from every XBOX-developed gaming franchise except Call of Duty will be console-exclusive to XBOX", and that Minecraft would no longer be purchasable (but still accessible for existing owners) on PlayStation and Nintendo as well.

As you've probably already seen, Big Walk is one of the huge indie successes of 2026, recieving ridiculously high review scores and being rated by Metacritic as the fourth best game of the year as things stand.

With PS5 and Switch 2 versions already on the market, it's only natural that Xbox fans have been asking when it's their turn to get the game on Series X and S, but unfortunately that's not going to be happening.

"A significant patch that impacts all areas of the game".

The folks over at The Coalition have shared their first major update for Gears of War: E-Day since the full release on October 6th, with today's patch said to be a "significant" one that "impacts all areas of the game".

Most of this is centered around making various fixes to the likes of the campaign, Horde Siege and Versus, but it's also notable that they've made "numerous improvements" to "stability and optimization across applicable hardware configurations", as well as to "address crashing and performance degradation during long play sessions".

Bustin' to return to Kait's story? Or...

As more and more of you roll credits on Gears of War: E-Day's outstanding 10/10 campaign, the question of what The Coalition should do next is beginning to emerge, and it's a question I can't seem to answer properly.

It's been a little over seven years since Gears 5 launched on Xbox One, receiving an Xbox Series X|S upgrade the following year ahead of the Hivebusters expansion. Even writing about it now, I feel so far removed from the ongoing events in Gears universe.
